Sunset Canyon Photography got its start in 1970 by a kid 39 years ago. A 15 yr old kid was taking a few pictures from an old Instamatic Camera, remember those? You would put a plastic cartridge in and shoot. Well this kid took a picture of a Drum Corps practicing outside of Cleveland's old Music Hall.
Once the pictures were developed, he took the pictures to the newspaper and gave it to the Photography department of the Cleveland Press and asked if he could have it published. Not only was it published , this photograph was entered in a contest by the editor and it won!
I was that kid. I was in shock that I won so I went to my neighborhood photographer, an older gentleman in his 60's who ran a studio for over 35 years. I asked him what was so great about the picture that it won. He chuckled and said the reason you won was because of the fact the picture was taken by an Instamatic and the natural lighting was such that the sun light bounced of the bells of the horns. Only a great photographer with some serious experience could reproduce this without the use of a half a dozen filters and you did it with an Instamatic! That is the reason you won.

On the strength of this Photograph, this young Photographer went to the US Open and freelanced his way to shooting the finals and the rest is history!
Sunset Canyon Photography is located in Cleveland Ohio. The entire staff is college educated and the owner (the kid ) carries 2 college degrees, 1 graduate degree and is a Senior level media expert. With over 20 years of wedding experience, Sunset Photography has worked with the likes of the Cooper Wedding Studios in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, The Summer Delray Photo Gallery and The Country Music Legends Tour for 3 years.
